What Ingredients Do you Need To Make a Italian Grinder Salad?

For the Dressing:
- Mayonnaise
- Red Wine Vinegar
- Salt
- Italian Seasoning
- Garlic puree
- Liquid from the Pepperoncini Peppers
- Parmesan Cheese
For the Salad:
- Iceberg Lettuce
- Salami
- Turkey
- Pepper Jack Cheese
- Red Onion
- Pepperoncini Peppers
- Grape Tomatoes
How Do You Make a Italian Grinder Salad?
Here’s how to make it: (See recipe card below for full recipe)
Step 1: Chop up the lettuce into 1 ” pieces and add it to a large salad bowl. Then chop up the red onion and add it to the bowl. Remove the seeds and membrane from the pepperoncini peppers. Chop the peppers into pieces and add them to the bowl along with the grape tomatoes cut in half.
Step 2: Cut the pepper jack cheese into 1/2 ” squares. Then slice the salami and turkey into 1/2 ” pieces as well. Add all 3 to the salad bowl.
Step 3: Make the dressing. In separate mixing bowl, add the mayonnaise, red wine vinegar, salt, Italian seasoning, garlic puree, pepperoncini liquid and the parmesan cheese. Mix until fully combined.
Step 4:Cover the salad with the dressing and gently mix until the salad is fully coated in the dressing. Serve immediately.

Recipe Notes For Making The Best Italian Grinder Salad:
- You can store this dressed salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator. The salad will get soggy when stored but will keep best for only 1-2 days!
- If you’re not eating this salad right away or want to use it for meal prep, leave the dressing off untilyou’reready to eat it.
- I use turkey and salami but any of your favourites meats could work. Perhaps roast beef, chicken, or ham.
- Romaine lettuce would be the next best lettuce to use besides iceberg. Some more great options are: spinach, kale, mixed greens, or even shredded Brussels sprouts.
- This grinder chopped salad could easily be turned into a grinder pasta salad. Just toss in your favourite cooked and cooled gluten free pasta and enjoy.
- You can use your favourite cheese to make this salad. Provolone, Colby, cheddar, mozzarella cheeseall make great substitutes for the pepper jack cheese if preferred.
- Banana peppers can be used in place of the pepperoncinis.
- If you don’t have Italian spice mix, you can make your own by using driedbasil, oregano, and marjoram. Some mixes also use rosemary, thyme, sage and occasionally, dried garlic.

Ingredients
For the Dressing:
